Our emotions act as vital internal signals. Anxiety often highlights a challenge we need to face, while anger may signal a boundary being crossed or a personal value being compromised. When we suppress or ignore these cues, we risk becoming disconnected from ourselves, which can take a significant toll on our physical and mental wellbeing.
Throughout her career, actress Samantha Ko Hoi Ling has navigated the profound impact of emotional distress. Under intense professional pressure and public scrutiny, Samantha experienced depression twice. Her struggle surfaced physically through alopecia areata, hyperthyroidism, and panic attacks. In an industry that often demands perfection, she struggled with self-doubt and even considered quitting the show business entirely.
Realising that her mental health was impacting her life and work, Samantha sought professional support from psychiatrists and clinical psychologists. Through practices like yoga and meditation, she discovered her own path to healing. Today, she has regained her sense of self-worth and purpose, finding true reconciliation with her emotional journey.
We warmly invite you to hear about the valuable lessons she has learned through her mental health journey. Besides, we will have Dr Candice Powell (CEO of Mind HK and Clinical Psychologist), Malcolm Wong (Clinical Advisor), and Joby Lau (Wellbeing Practitioner). Drawing on their extensive clinical expertise, they will share practical self-care tips and everyday coping techniques. You will also learn about the various support services available to help you navigate life’s challenges with greater emotional awareness.
