To mark the start of the new year, Mind HK is pleased to launch a new, free service: a one-time “Free Emotional Wellbeing Check-In.”  

Mind HK is currently offering a one-time free emotional wellbeing check-in. If you meet the criteria for this programme, a Mind HK iACT® wellbeing practitioner will have a one-time 45-minute conversation with you to understand your current emotional wellbeing status and needs. Together, you will explore suitable community resources to take care of your emotional wellbeing. The conversation can take place online or over the phone, according to your preference.


This service is suitable for adults aged 18-65 who…

  • Are interested in understanding their emotional wellbeing and status
  • Experience the following problems:
    • Mild to moderate anxiety (including social, generalised, health anxiety, exam anxiety etc.)
    • Mild to moderate depression
    • Other emotional challenges, for example:
      • Low self-esteem
      • Perfectionism
      • Mild anger issues
      • Interpersonal or relational challenges 
      • Low motivation
      • Lack of purpose
      • Numbness

Why try it out? Because sometimes, a little insight can go a long way. This check-in is designed to be a light, easy introduction to your emotional world. It’s like taking a quick peek through a window into your inner self. 

It is a simple, insightful moment that could lead to greater self-awareness and point you towards paths for further exploration if you choose. 

Think of it as a starting point. Our iACT® Wellbeing Practitioners will touch on various aspects of your emotional wellbeing, but in a way that’s easy to engage with and understand. It’s perfect for those who are curious to learn more about the state of their mental wellbeing and what kind of support or resources might be helpful. It’s all about taking that first step in a journey of self-discovery and understanding.

This programme is open to Hong Kong residents aged 18 – 65 who may be feeling lost or facing emotional difficulties, and is available in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English. This programme is not suitable for individuals diagnosed with severe or complex mental health conditions.

  3. Have a 45-minute remote conversation (video or call) with an iACT® Wellbeing practitioner
  4. An iACT Wellbeing Practitioner will recommend appropriate community resources based on your situation

  1. Who is suitable for participating in this programme?
    This programme welcomes anyone between the ages of 18 and 65 who may be feeling lost or facing emotional difficulties. Please note that this programme is not suitable for individuals diagnosed with severe or complex mental health conditions.


  1. What is the assessment process like?
    After signing up, our wellbeing practitioner will contact you within two weeks to schedule a convenient time for a 45-minute conversation, either via video or phone call, according to your preference. During the conversation, the wellbeing practitioner will understand your current situation and help you gain a better understanding of your emotional state based on the questionnaire you filled out during application. Additionally, they will provide recommendations for appropriate community resources based on your needs, helping you take an important first step in taking care of your mental health.


  1. I am currently facing a major crisis, setback, or difficulty, or I have been previously diagnosed with a more severe or complex mental health condition. Is this programme suitable for me?
    Our wellbeing practitioners are trained to support people who experience mild to moderate mental health issues primarily. This programme is not suitable for the situations mentioned above.   1. Will the content of this service be kept confidential?
    Your conversations with the wellbeing practitioner are absolutely confidential. Any information about you will not be shared with anyone without your consent unless you or others are at immediate risk or the wellbeing practitioner has reason to believe that you may be in imminent danger.


  1. How will we ensure the safety of this programme for you?
    Before having the conversation, we will ask you to fill out a basic questionnaire for preliminary screening assessment. This screening process aims to ensure that the training received by the wellbeing practitioners is sufficient to meet the needs of the individuals receiving the service. If it is determined after the screening assessment that the service is not suitable for you, Mind HK will provide alternative recommendations to ensure your safety and support.


For adults who are suitable for this service, all wellbeing practitioners have received training on how to identify and respond to safety and risk issues. If you have any concerns about the support process, the wellbeing practitioners have appropriate measures in place and will develop response plans based on the urgency of the situation. They can also access support from clinical practitioners from Mind HK or participating organisations.
