In 2018 I found myself in a dark place, feeling lost and untethered in the fast-paced Hong Kong lifestyle after returning from a 2-year trip. I was questioning my decisions, where my life direction should be heading towards, have I wasted time, what was wrong with me that I can’t achieve milestones like others and the agony of letting my mum down. I was drowning in my anxiety and felt depressed.
Gradually I started going to yoga classes and learning more about meditation and yoga philosophy, and 4 years later, I completed my 200 hours Yoga Teacher Training in India. I’m so thankful for my Asana practice and mindfulness concepts. They’ve helped me a lot as well as having employment. They gave me the foundation to stand on, a daily routine to keep me grounded in the work, taking me out of my head.
Today, my philosophy is to maintain a connection to our values and learn to befriend the different voices in our heads.
