I have always believed that I am blessed in some ways because whenever I have challenges or hard times, I’ve gotten support from friends, colleagues or even strangers who are Christians. As a result I thought those are the angels sent to me.
8 years ago, after returning to Hong Kong from Europe, I felt out of place, missing the holiday traditions I used to enjoy. In November 2025, I hit a rough patch— work stress and loneliness left me drained. Feeling lost, I took a moment one night to reflect, hoping for strength to focus less on my own worries and more on supporting others around me.
The next day, I joined a friend at a community gathering she’d recommended. During a quiet moment, a sense of calm hit me. My problems didn’t disappear, but I felt clearer, ready to tackle them with a new perspective, like I wasn’t facing things alone. My friend’s invitation was just the right kind of support—not pushy, but enough to get me out of my head. She’d also introduced me to a course that got me thinking about life’s bigger picture, which I’d been exploring through weekly meetups.
Two days later, I got news that a commitment I’d made—a step to mark my personal growth—would go ahead despite earlier doubts. Looking back, I realized that quiet moment of reflection had shifted how I saw myself. I’d been inspired by the “angels” in my life—friends, coworkers, even strangers—who’d shown me kindness, pushing me to pay it forward.
That experience grounded me, teaching me to lean on community and stay open to growth. It’s made me stronger, more focused on lifting others up. Now, that moment reminds me to keep moving forward, connected to those around me.
