The Project provides family support services for families whose children under 18 years of age struggle with mental illness. The goal is to promote mental wellbeing and build resilience through family-centered counseling, child-focused psychoeducational groups, wellness programs and parent-focused support programmes.
The Wellness Centres offers integrated district-based community support services by clinical psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, nurses, mental health education officers, peer support workers and program workers.
In collaboration with District Elderly Community Centres and Integrated Community Centres for Mental Wellness, the project provides early intervention services and psychoeducational workshops for older adults with mild to severe depressive symptoms, and training for social workers. Pychological support services are provided by trained staff or volunteers, under the supervision of a clinical psychologist, to reduce the emotional distress and suffering of vulnerable people and carers affected by disasters or emergencies. Service provides individual and group counselling for parents to strengthen their role in their child’s growth and development. Areas of consultation include parenting style, parent-child relationship, emotion management, stress and case consultation. Seminars and workshops for parent are also available. Formerly known as the “Relatives and Friends of the Suicidal People Self-help Group”, Live the Rainbow Service helps people work through their painful experiences and provide mutual support to each other.
Established in 2002, the Centre provides outreach and community activities, volunteer training and educational resources to educate the community on suicide prevention.
Provides community mental health support services for people aged 15+ in the North District, such as casework, therapeutic groups, psychoeducational programmes, support groups and peer support services. The professional team includes social workers, psychiatric nurse, occupational therapist and clinical psychologist. The centre also shares psychoeducational programmes on online platform to raise public awareness about the importance of mental health.
