(25th March, Hong Kong) – As the fifth wave of the pandemic continues to impact the city, mental health is of concern. In response to the increasing challenges and needs for mental health services, local mental health charity – Mind HK is launching a series of online workshops and webinars during April, along with an array of bilingual resources, to support the community ; they aim to equip individuals with relevant tools and techniques to support and manage their wellbeing during the difficult times.

 

Available in English and Cantonese, Mind HK’s COVID -19 guided self-help workshops are hosted by mental health experts such as psychiatrists, psychologists, and public health professionals. Each workshop is comprised of 3 separate 1-hour sessions focusing on a range of topics. Highlighted themes include identifying personal challenges during the pandemic, strategies for managing stress & uncertainty, managing exposure to news, behavioural strategies for preventing low mood and many more. The managing mental health webinars, specifically designed for the fifth wave will cover the challenges and stressors of the pandemic, peer support resources and tips about taking care of own wellbeing during the COVID-19 outbreak. Mind HK is pleased to launch a new COVID – 19 information hub to provide further mental health support for those who are in need. The hub includes valuable content from coping with anxiety and pandemic fatigue, mandatory isolation tips, to managing mental health and emotions if you test positive, available in both English and Chinese. More graphics and anti-pandemic tips can also be found on Mind HK’s official Instagram – @mindhongkong. Contents will be constantly updated as the fifth wave develops.

 

For further enquiries, Mind HK’s team is also open to media interview opportunities, by providing further professional advice in English or Chinese. They have experts (psychiatrists, psychologists, public health professionals), ambassadors (who can share their personal stories), and others who are able to speak on the mental health concerns and situation at this time.
