SUMMARY:[ Manulife x Mind HK ] Your Mental Health Matters Event Caregivers and Their Stress
DESCRIPTION:At some point in life\, we may find ourselves taking on the role of a caregiver. \nYou can be considered a caregiver regardless of whom you are caring for\, whether it be your children\, parents\, a chronically ill family member\, older relatives\, a spouse\, or siblings. Caring for mental health is just as important as caring for physical health. Caregivers often experience prolonged stress without realising it\, sometimes considering it a normal part of their daily routine. This neglect of their own mental and physical health needs can have negative effects on both the caregiver and the person they are caring for. \nWe invite you to join our Manulife x Mind HK “Your Mental Health Matters” event. This time\, we are excited to have director and screenwriter Vincci Cheuk to share her experiences as a caregiver. Starting with no prior experience\, she learned to care for her ninety-year-old grandmother. Vincci has spent a lot of time understanding the needs of the elderly while also prioritising her own mental and physical needs\, demonstrating the importance of self-care while caring for others. \nOur clinical advisor\, Melissa\, will join us to provide a professional perspective on the challenges faced by caregivers and offer practical tips for maintaining their mental wellbeing. Additionally\, our CEO and clinical psychologist\, Candice\, will engage in discussions with Vincci and Melissa\, combining clinical expertise and real-life caregiving experiences to provide helpful insights to those in need. \nRemember\, you do not have to face mental health challenges alone. As a caregiver\, you are never on your own. \nRegister now before the seats run out! \nDate: 6 May 2025 (Tuesday) \nTime: 7:00 – 8:30 pm \nVenue: Hong Kong Central Library (Lecture Theatre\, G/F)\, Causeway Bay \nPrice: Free of charge (Each participant is required to pay a deposit of HK$100\, which will be refunded after attending the event\, or you may choose to donate the deposit to Mind HK to support mental health services.) \nLanguage: Cantonese \nRegistration: https://www.eventbrite.hk/e/x-your-mental-health-matters-tickets-1289131941339\nFor more information: event@mind.org.hk \n*This event is organised by Mind HK\, with support from Headline Sponsor Manulife.
